REVIVE LAKE CATHIE CALLS LAKE CATHIE/LAKE INNES ESTUARINE SYSTEM STAKEHOLDER MEETING
16/11/2020 - Revive Lake Cathie will host a Lake Cathie/Lake Innes Stakeholder meeting to bring together Community, Local and State Government.
Identified Lake Stakeholders including Leslie Williams MP, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Mayor Pinson, Port Macquarie-Hastings Councillors, relevant NSW State Departments, Lake Cathie Progress Association, Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce, Lake Cathie Fishing Club and Ozfish Unlimited have all been invited to attend this event.
Revive Lake Cathie’s testing results evidence environmental degradation underway in the Lake Cathie/Lake Innes Estuarine System and the need for urgent action. Revive Lake Cathie’s Marine Biologist Dr Deb Geronimi qualified water sampling results indicated the overall the lake’s heath is extremely poor and has extremely poor water quality.
Further water sampling and testing was undertaken by Revive Lake Cathie’s NSW Waterwatch team on Saturday 14 November 2020, thanks to the actions of Revive Lake Cathie’s Community Volunteers, “The Voice the Lake”.
“Revive Lake Cathie again calls for immediate implementation of measures to halt the national environmental catastrophe underway in the Lake Cathie/Lake Innes Estuarine System” said Revive Lake Cathie President Danielle Maltman.
